Yakitori

Yakitori

After watching that Japanese Tofu-delivery movie, it felt fitting to make yakitori for dinner. Good thing today is a holiday. More time to spend on things like this.

Made with George Foreman Grill - but I don’t recommend the grill. It’s always a pain to clean up. Unless the newer version has removable grille..

Yakitori is one of those things that doesn’t have any secrets. It is what you see, unlike Ramen, or Hot Dogs. And when you go to the store, you pay for their labour and service, not so much on their secret formula - although they do have one bucket of secret BBQ soy sauce blend if you order the Tare flavoured skewers.

Very impressive Yakitori. At first glance I thought it was at a restaurant!

The sauce is certainly the secret weapon in this recipe, and it is non-trivial. (Best if simmered for a long time and reduced to a thick, wonderful sauce.)
