sewing up a raincoat with paper towls
I’ve always wanted to justify working here (in BC, Canada). Cuz life here is too boring.
You get less salary working in Asia, that’s one. But everything else is cheaper (not talking about japan)..(and more delicous)
My cousin, who has an architect degree from McGill , works in tw with bad pay, 10+hour workdays, and he refuses to come back to Canada..
I did a calculation, to see how often I can go back with the “extra” money I’m making here..
work in japan:
car/ and or apartment
possibly lower salary / overtime
net monthly loss - 700one trip to tokyo:
1300 plane
500 hotel
400 food
2200700 x 4 = 2800
Conclusion:
(I can afford to) go every four months.
Doesn’t have to be tokyo.. i can travel the world!
(i do these (highly flawed) calculations for every big spending…)
of course, i’m blinding myself from all the higher-paying jobs elsewhere.
ooh, i made BBQ ribs last night in my back yard. my bbq “machine” is too old, all the holes on the burner are getting too big for making the flame small (ie ribs got a little charred before they got cooked) but it was still delicious.. next time im gonna try to find good cuts of beef, thinly sliced. (Karubi and whats the other one?)
so that’s it. if the inner traveller don’t die before i get to go anywhere, im gonna try for a trip, at least in 2005.
