No longer Nanny
Whoever reading this is the first to know (not even my mom knows yet): I got a job offer for a local Jr. Soft Eng position!
the snail-like job-hunt paid off.
I don’t want to get too excited because no one has signed anything yet, and there’s gonna be a 6-month probation period.. which means I could still loose it when everyone signed everything (gotta work hard). I better cram for some funky C++ skillz before I start, next Monday. Seems like they’re hiring in the middle of some busy period, hence the instant start time. It’s like jumping into a swimming race right in the middle of it.
What a [blank] experience. It was an 2hr interview followed by 2 quiet and slow weeks of waiting.
Come to think of it, everything is so slow and quiet again now.. maybe I’ll watch some taped Conan later.
What does this mean?
Next week, brother is having spring break, so he can be his own nanny. After that, no idea.
I’ll likely be taking the car to work. Family will be without car. Richmond is really inconvenient without cars.. there’s no skytrain, transferring takes extra long, no one walks around here.
Maybe we need a second-hand, $500-ish Honda Accord. I’ve driven in one before, the ride quality was great, and I heard they are reliable.
(just came back from the library with a stack of C++ books. Maybe I should’ve ask them what the job is about first…?)
