Jonbu the baker

i’m so slow

Starting a new life

Hopefully i can start playing the sims this weekend. it sure is resource hungry. 1ghz with super video card, or 2ghz without super video card? i wonder how it’d look with my humbly-stuck (read: onboard) video.

i always get good soundcards, but with video, it’s been pay-as-you-go. The last time i spent too much on a video card was when FFVII came out on PC. I spent $200+ on a state-of-the-art 12MB 3d accelerator. It doesn’t even work as a stand-along video card. you had to use a passthru cable and pass it the regular video, and when something 3d comes along, it activates itself and takes over.

My friends thought I was nuts (<--hasn't changed), because you can get a PS for less money, and play the game on your TV. But what they don't know is, the quality is better on the PC! (wahaha) The resolutioin on a PC monitor is simply much higher. It’s like playing in HDTV, vs 320×280 or something on a TV. And, the texture maps the PC version were improved over the original release. And come to think of it, i might have gotten a better sound blaster with customizable wavetable for it too.. aye.

Now I said all that tech stuff because if i like this game enough, I may run out and get myself a decent video card.

If I build a Jonbu Sims, and let him live my life at an accelerated rate, I may just be able to confirm the fact that I will go bankrupt and be kicked while sleeping in a Tokyo subway station, wearing broken sony headphones for style, when I’m 30. Now why would I end up in a Tokyo Subway?( or a more meaningful question is, why woud sony headphones break?) That’s a mystery. Hopefully I’ll know by playing this game. (do they even have cities in there?)

Forgot what i was gonna say next.

ooh i finally got a xanga account (jonbu). just so i can spread insightful comments into the xanga community. maybe i’ll even write a few posts there, who know.

(no “frozen” mood..)
