Jonbu the baker

i’m so slow

Nothing in particular

Watching the Amazing Race again. They’re sleeping at the HK airport, which is kinda cool… those familiar number signs (that i took pics of) and stuff.

And now they’re at the (!) Philippines. (Supposedly there’s a giant duck industry in the Philippines. Gotta ask Evanson more about it.)

Here’s something I’ve noticed from my years of ICQing: Of all the days in the week, the greatest online turnout happens on Tuesday nights. It’s been like that week after week. Monday nights produces one of the fewest online turnouts, and everyone goes online Tuesday nights. Every other nights of the week are not as consistant as Tuesdays.
Of course it’s likely because of the kind of people I have on my list, but that’s what I find anyways.

Monday Morning

Good thing my class starts at 12. Cold and rainy today. I was plotting my skipping plan in bed this morning, then I realized I can slowly wake up, casually get ready, and still be able to catch the class if I take the 11:08 bus. That’s what I’m waiting for now.

It was great to hang out with the Gifu gang again on Friday. It all felt too familiar. (great pictures over at ’s)

Hm, I should get going…

School!!

School’s gonna start! Life will be transformed! (unless i end up skipping)

Spent some time last night revamping my Gallery. Turns out lots of the new album settings only apply to *subsequent* picture uploads, so not much has changed (But i do like how the album tree look.) There aren’t that many new pictures to show, and I don’t see much point in uploading old Japan photos unless it gives me pleasure doing it. So.. I’ll see.

Still looking for something cool, fun, pretty, and useless to put on my homepage. Haven’t thought of what yet. One really good choice would be this Sony Ericsson BALL. Check out how the ball goes wild when you tickle it the right way with your mouse. If I ever have the energy and will to learn Flash, that BALL would definitely be my first project.

tv

I watched 5 hours of TV today. Reminds me of the tv-loving days back in Anpachi. Whenever the Millionaire theme started playing, i would go crazy, and search for the closest TV possible. It’s like those dog-whistles. You blow on it, the dog goes crazy, but everyone else don’t hear a thing.

First thing I saw was CNN’s live, primetime coverage of the Republican national convention. Usually I don’t care for these things, but after seeing a few war documentaries (road to tyranny, especially), it’s kind of interesting to hear what the politicians have to say. Aside from that, some of these people are really great public speakers. Writing speeches that truely gratify people is not easy. Speaking like Governor Arnald is not easy.

Next up was a two hour special of “Trading Spouses”. These days it’s understood that watching reality shows is lame, but they’re so fun to watch, now that Friend’s are finished with. Today a New York lawyer got to swap places with a farmer in the South for a week. The farmer had a great time while the lawyer was suffering. The lawyer’s wife nags so much that it’s almost annoying to watch sometimes.

After that I saw “The Amazing Race” that somehow had something to do with Jerry Bruckheimer. This episode took place in Saudi Arabia and India, and they showed off a lot of the area. Nothing like i’ve imagined. The contestants were rushing onto taxi’s / trains / airplanes. Much like i was when we were in japan.

And then I saw “How it’s made”. Watched machine stomping steel plates into shovels, repetitively.
At the end of the day I switched back and forth between Jay Leno and David Letterman. They joked about the Republican national convention.

TV sure is fun to watch.
