tv
I watched 5 hours of TV today. Reminds me of the tv-loving days back in Anpachi. Whenever the Millionaire theme started playing, i would go crazy, and search for the closest TV possible. It’s like those dog-whistles. You blow on it, the dog goes crazy, but everyone else don’t hear a thing.
First thing I saw was CNN’s live, primetime coverage of the Republican national convention. Usually I don’t care for these things, but after seeing a few war documentaries (road to tyranny, especially), it’s kind of interesting to hear what the politicians have to say. Aside from that, some of these people are really great public speakers. Writing speeches that truely gratify people is not easy. Speaking like Governor Arnald is not easy.
Next up was a two hour special of “Trading Spouses”. These days it’s understood that watching reality shows is lame, but they’re so fun to watch, now that Friend’s are finished with. Today a New York lawyer got to swap places with a farmer in the South for a week. The farmer had a great time while the lawyer was suffering. The lawyer’s wife nags so much that it’s almost annoying to watch sometimes.
After that I saw “The Amazing Race” that somehow had something to do with Jerry Bruckheimer. This episode took place in Saudi Arabia and India, and they showed off a lot of the area. Nothing like i’ve imagined. The contestants were rushing onto taxi’s / trains / airplanes. Much like i was when we were in japan.
And then I saw “How it’s made”. Watched machine stomping steel plates into shovels, repetitively.
At the end of the day I switched back and forth between Jay Leno and David Letterman. They joked about the Republican national convention.
TV sure is fun to watch.
