Updateo

My cute little cousin uses this computer. She lives under the usual family hierarchical onus of always having to use the lesser things in the family passed on by the elders. She has this P-II computer with sticky keyboard, she sleeps in the room with no aircon (in infernal taiwan!), and she recently got a new cellphone, which her older sister don’t want anymore.

I lost some of my first day pictures. Sheat.

Taiwan is really a rough neighbourhood. Pedestrians find their own “pedestrian’s walk” between the motorcycles (parked or not) and what nots on the streets. There are weird mechanical noises coming out of nowhere. Just this morning some mechanical shreddings rained onto the road in front of me, while I was waiting for my uncle’s car. The food, however, has been cheap and delicious. I have been stuffing myself with food whenever I can. Haven’t been “hungry” since I got here.

Japanese-beverage-wise, there are no Namachas in Taiwan. Only Pocari Sweat. They call it, “Bao-Kuang-Li-Suei-Te”. It can easily be translated back to, Bocari Sheet.

I’ve also been learning a lot about my relatives. Had dinner with my mother-side’s family for mother’s day. It’s really interesting to see all these people that you remember in your memory, except now their hair have traces of white, and their faces, traces of time.

My oldest uncle lost his voice, and his teeth misshapened and miscolored, all due to this addictive fruit/nut that we have in taiwan. No idea the english name, bablefish calls it “Betel nut”. Betel nut shops hire hot/sexy/young girls dressed briskly for selling these nuts in a drive-thru fashion. Cars would park at the side of the street, and these girls will come out and take their orders. It’s really a sight. Betel nut trees are profitable to plant, but the trees loosen the soil, and result in landslides. Quite parallel to what the nuts do to the people that eats them. I think my older uncle is going to have a second throat surgery soon.

All my relatives here have been surprisingly kind to me so far, and I have been having quite a good time. They’re just really rushed/cold when on the phone. I called my father-side grandma earlier, and she sounded so quiet and calm. I haven’t talked to her in years, and I don’t know what to expect when I go find her tomorrow. It’ll be a 4-hour train ride, and I’ll be staying over at her place for a few days. My Montreal-graduated, highly artistic architect cousin is already living there, so I will be able to see him too. I have an infernal-affairs relationship with him. It should be interesting, or not. Since you know how infernal-affairs relationships are like. Really calm and boring on the surface, and all the interesting stuff happens inside. Too bad this isn’t a stylish movie, and I will probably never know what is happening inside him.

No pictures yet, because my pictures are in the older-sister new-cellphone cousin’s computer, and she doesn’t let me use her computer. Shee.. (thinking about my lost photos)

Aye, more train rides… I have to put some hip taiwanese mp3s into my Muvo. My aunt recommands me to get the train bento. It will be delicious and cheap.

sleep. sleep. sleep.
sleep. sleep.

I think those “Betel nuts” are banned in HK (or maybe it’s just my imagination, but I know they are banned in Singapore), because they have black juice and make your teeth look horrible.

I am so jealous that you get to pull F4’s hair.
