i’m so slow

2.25 : 1

Seems like it has become a pattern for me to crank out posts late at night when I’m half asleep.

A visit to Steve’s room re-energized me for a few minutes. I had two Yacult imitations.

After my post (here…) about Ghost in the Shell, where I stole frames from the movie and pasted them, I kinda like how the pictures are all panoramic.

I love the 2.25:1 or 16:9 film standards. They’re what make a move feel like a movie. Even back in the VHS days, I would go to HMV and hunt for widescreen versions of the movie I want to buy. And my family would complain about those black bars on the screen. Actually, they probably didn’t complain.

the (here…) link does not work. Because I’m too lazy to fish out that post from a while ago.

Today was not so fun. My phone was dying so I was basically stranded in Nagoya’s sea of people. I thought maybe presenting a boring day in widescreen format would make it more interesting. After all, people sit through lots of boring movies simply because it’s a movie. It’s art.

“Brakefast”

I had Ikura Onigiri.

When I woke up this morning, my stomach was aching, likely from the Korokke dinner I mentioned in my last post.

“On train”

the posters that they like to display in hanging fashion on trains reminds me of Hong Kong streets.

“Lunch”

Wakayama Ramen. It was good. This place also provide freshly ground garlic for your pleasure. How do I know it’s fresh? They provide the squeezing grinder, and you grind it yourself on the spot.

Half way through my ramen meal, i squeezed some garlic into my soup, and it was delicious. One thing good about travelling alone is, you don’t have to worry about having to travel alone after your friends fleed you because of bad breath.

“Shinkansen Entrance”

I want to go to tokyo. The only thing between me and these people is the fact that they have tickets. They are capable of passing through that gate, and get on that shinkansen.

Actually, took this picture as a cover for another picture that I really wanted to get.

“Girl with blue board”

But that other picture I wanted disappeared after the person saw me taking pictures. There was a person standing right in the middle of that blue sign. It looked like she was radiating out those blue waves. Too bad, she escaped. This is some other person.

I notice that when I walk around Nagoya, people make eye contacts with me, then their eyes fix onto the camera in my hand. Doesn’t matter which camera it is. It’s annoying. I’m trying to take pictures but they are making my camera uncomfortable.

Throughout the Nagoya station today, there were sloppy people holding up signs that says something like “3rd annual something Photographer’s Conference” One of those guys saw my camera, then looked at me with lustful eyes. I rushed away. Wasn’t in mood to practice Japanese.

Those sloppy photographers were everywhere. I had to hide my camera just so they won’t approach me.

“Subway Hall”

I love boring subway halls. Imagin workers putting up all those tiles eh?

I have now arrived at what is known as the “Two Hour Window” which all CS and Engineering students are familiar with in one way or another. It’s when the body wakes up and the subject does not feel sleepy, yet the brain only works at some 40% of usual efficiency. Thanks to this window, my post is much longer and gibberish.

For most of the day my Bessa R took over. It’s the camera featured in the (do not click) post. I had to try a roll.

I’m getting tired of 35mm. Unless the prints surprise me, I will (partially) quit film.

“Solar Arc”

Took around 10 tries to get it right. And it’s even not too good, cuz I didnt have a tripod.

Well, that “Two Hour Window” lasted me 30 mins. Good nite.
