i’m so slow

Tokyo Disney Sea

Last weekend I was at Disney Sea with Shirley. It took less than a week of planning. I don’t even remember why we went anymore. It was a good day, never the less.

The pictures narrate. I will suppliment.

“So Disney”

The train was running quite slowly, but I just had to try out those mickey hand rings.

“Universal Globe”

The idea behind the familiar Universal studios globe somehow made its way to Disney.

“Hungry Pluto”

In this picture we see the beloved pluto eating up some poor kid.

“Goofy”

Uh-hyug! You can almost hear that by looking at this picture. You know, that sound Goofy likes to make? (Aye.. will no one understand me)

It is my belief that lots of kids are actually afraid of those mascots. Just look at the pictures. They’re quite nervous. When I was a kid I avoided* the cartoonie people. During this trip i was able to get pass that mental obstical and function like a normal adult amongst them cartoon people.

“American Mura”

American Waterfront, or the neighbouring area. I almost felt like I was in Europe.

“Giant lens”

I can’t explain what this exhibit is trying to accomplish. There was a plaque beside it explaining the whole thing. Shirley took a picture of that plaque so its on file, if you ever need to know. It being a giant lens is already good enough for me.

“Navigation room”

They had joysticks set up around the room for controlling boats you see there. I went and grabbed a stick as soon as i entered. Just as I was all confused about why the stick is not doing anything, shirley says in her usual calm, “you have to pay.”

“Center of the Universe”

This we didnt have to pay. You grab a crank and turn it to move the planets around the sun, while your friend gets entertained by awe as to how idiotic you look, working so hard to accomplish something so banal.

“Trio”

We bumped into Goofy again at Port of Discovery. He was all dressed up differently. We didnt get a picture with him at the Mediterranean Harbour, but we finally got it here.

.. I don’t know. It felt kinda good having a wholesome hug with Goofy. I’m glad it wasn’t Jafar or the little Mermaid.

“Mechanical Fish”

There was a ride at the Port of D called “the storm riders”. Basically you go in, watch a CG movie while they spray water on you. That was our first ride so I was quite happy. Way better than sitting at Anpachi watching rice grow. By hind sight, however, that was a pretty bad ride.

What I recommand people do is, after getting on this ride, go to “Journey to the center of the Earth”. It takes you down to the volcano. They had fire burning in there. Dries you up pretty nicely.

“Port discovery + Volcano”

The volcano is quite cool. It puffs out smoke at regular intervals.

“S. McDuck”

I look extra young in this picture for some reason. And McDuck has a tongue shaped like a heart. Shirley’s fur hood almost looks like the duck’s hair.

“Playboy”

At first sight I thought mickey was hugging Shirley. The girl’s hair looked a little bit like shirley’s, plus the fur hood. Of course the jacket color is different, so I said at first sight.

“Stone bird”

“Indiana Jones and the temple of Doom”

The Indiana Jones ride was the best ride. We went twice. I would want a third time but the dinner was complaining from within my stomach.

“Good bridge”

I was casually skipping along the bridge, saying “hey, this is a good bridge.” Then some wood sticking out almost tripped me.
It’s a okay bridge.

“artistic blur”

I’m probably the only person that will post (not to mention keep) pictures like this. Instead of trying to make out anything, just relax your eyes and look at the colors. Better? No?

“Big whale”

This whale is actually a gift shop. It represents the gift industry gulping up consumers.

“Arabic Ball”

Incidently I had meatball curry at this area. I was hoping for something more real, but the curry tasted like all curry in japan. I love meatballs.

Friday 5

My Japanese coworker today told me about this Friday 5 website. Looks okay fun, so here it goes:

1. Are you superstitious?

Selectively.

2. What extremes have you heard of someone going to in the name of superstition?

I heard its common in Taiwan to make tea out of temple incent ashes and drink it for desease healing.

3. Believer or not, what’s your favorite superstition?

Never sign your name in red ink. Incidently my dorm provides red pens for signing when picking up packages.

4. Do you believe in luck? If yes, do you have a lucky number/article of clothing/ritual?

I rely heavily on luck. But I don’t have anything luck-related.

5. Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not?

I used to. Not anymore. Most of the time it’s pretty accurate. But believing in astrology requires some extend of studying and memorizing the dates to make it any useful. So not anymore.

Trip Update

I just got back from my weekend Tokyo trip. The city is still amazing on my 5th visit (life-wise). It’s always joyous to arrive, saddening to leave.

“Uncle Scrooge”

I went to disneySea with shirley. The place is actually not too Disney, though it shares DisneyLand’s synthetic other-worldly feel.

Sleep now. More later.

V-day

Got to post this before the season runs out:

“Chocolate Train”

This was on display at the Nagoya Marriott Hotel. You walk into the lobby, and you smell chocolate before realizing it’s the train giving out the aroma.

When I saw it (I was a little drunk) I imagined melting it on a giant hot plate, and it’d look like the train is slowly decending into a pool of chocolate. Which, in turn, reminds me of Titanic.

I’ll stop here.

Pictures, Return!

Pictures are the backbones of my LJ. If i can write interestingly enough to keep you here without posting any pictures, I wouldn’t be here. I’d be out making tons of money writing novels.

Summary of my LJ revival:

Through I met .

was kind enough to offer me the usage of his server, after he saw my post about my server going down.

Thank you,

And offered to help me set up the image gallery, knowing that it’d probably take me a while to learn how to do it.

Thank you,

And now to celebrate:

“Buns”

Happy re-birthday to you, bokujony’s LJ !

(The old pictures shall remain dead until I somehow fix them.)
