Jonbu the baker

i’m so slow

Frontline Weather Report

Took this picture before I went and hide in my room. The wind was so strong and cold, that I only stood there for 3 shots and were defeated.

After hiding in my room for hours, I bumped into Ben in the hall, and he told me it has been snowing crazy. I looked out and everything changed.. So i decided some pictures is in order.

These pics are presented out of order..

“Bush”

“Cars”

“Gate”

“Racks”

This is where we hang our clothes. I should hang my T-shirt there and take a picture….

“20″

Those titles were originally my notes while editing the post.. cuz I can’t see the pics while editing, so i just jot down some words to remind me of the picture.. (I’m trying to explain why the titles are so shallow)

After standing infront of 20 trying to get a good picture, (it’s hard, that reflective plate made all the snow disappear from the picture, and the snow was letting up.. I wanted to wait till it gets strong again) I started to feel my hand freezing up. First from the tip of my fingers, I couldn’t feel my camera, then that numbness started to crawl over my fingers. That was when I decided to forget it and go home.

Then I went back to the racks for this one

It’s the eyes

In wake of my recent crazy overspending on cameras, I took a few minutes before the Chinese new year and thought about WHY?

And then it hit me. I’m sure I got the reason right on…
(Oh, gotta insert pretty picture before the cut to grab attention)

No more girl pics.

I have a fetish with Lenses. I love them. They’re so pretty to look at, and the things they can do are amazing.

Just like how crows like to collect shiny things, I can’t get enough of them lenses.

Some random lenses for your pleasure:

look at this one… it’s so shiny… Carl Zeiss f2.0 …

And heres the same lens with a good view of that greenish enticing glow from the lens coating… mmm.. coating….

Whenever I look at lenses I can’t help but wonder what’s inside that barrel. So mysterious… so dreamy…

And here here.. I saved this one till the last. This is a Canadian made Leica Noctilux lens that costs $3000. If I could get you to stare at that orangy glow for a minute…

What is money? It’s so abstract… What a carefree world…

Happy Monkey year!

I’ts supposed to be a bad year for us monkey people. Everyone have their bad years ploted out at every 12- year interval. (Watch out when your own zodiac go against the year’s zodiac)

My last bad year was….when I was 11 years old i suppose… 12 years ago. What a year. Our family somehow moved to some forign country, and I never set foot on my homeland since.

This year is supposed to be big too. I’m supposed to leave Japan. I will graduate (maybe). I will be out of a job.. Who knows what will happen.

Fleas and their markets

Today I went Nagoya to try out my newly bought Hexar. Can’t really share the results on LJ because it’s coming out in prints. (That’s one thing I dont like about film, but I’ll stop talking about that. This is not Doraemon’s Essay)

For the most of the day I was holding that hexar while walking around. At the JR station, some guy approached me asking about my camera. It’s almost like walking you dog along the neighbourhood, then some friendly people with their dog approach you and ask what kind of dog you have.

Turns out he has the same camera, and he likes it a lot. I guess he’s never seen other people using it. It was never a popular camera.

Before I fall asleep I got to get these pictures out.

Girl Playing with pigeons…

I wasn’t afraid to take pictures of someone’s precious daugther because:

Look at these vicious photographers. I don’t know there’s so many people that would carry their giant cameras all day.

Some more pictures of the flea market:

To wrap up: The Temple/Shrine of Osu Kanno: I’ts like my church now. I visit every weekend.

Go-To-Loft, And- Have-A-HaP-Py-Time

Loft is an cool store. If I were a tourist, I’d probably spend the majoirty of my shopping money here. It’s where I got my namacha Panda.

I snuck my bulky Sony into the store and took some pictures so you never have to come here.

Relaxing Fish creatures that you voluntarily let them bite.

Tooth Lamps. Great gift for your dentist.

Stackable farm animals.

Selections of Tuna Sashimi. If I carry knife and chopsticks with me at all times, I would eat a box right there.

Totoro in Robe. The pricetag reads 36,000yen. That’s 10 giant namacha panda.

Onion Head with big pimple.

Charred toasts with teeth. (I made that up.)

Actually, that Tuna picture is not from Loft.

Shopping is the only thing that keeps me alive now. If I carry that Relaxing Fish device, and put my hand into it everytime I feel a buying urge, I may actually save more than enough money to buy that 36,000yen Totoro.

Refreshed

Today I re-watched that Japanese cartoon based in future HK. Took some pictures while doing it. Wonderful art, and some scenes actually do remind me of HK.

It’s so easy to take pictures of a movie. it’s already pre-framed..

This guy is not dancing. He’s getting beat up.

I believe that’s the Star Ferry behind him.
